My Educational Philosophy I believe that education must be universal, that is to say, within reach of all. It should be the pillar of the formation of the person in a holistic manner (physical, mental, social, and emotional). Every learner should be provided with the necessary tools to be able to develop the skills and abilities to excel in a positive way in the globalized world. Part of this process is the development of participative and critical thinking. Learning should be cooperative, collaborative, participatory and reflective where the exchange of ideas and tolerance prevail. The content and the academic knowledge taught must go hand in hand with the needs of both the local and international society. This learning must be organic, and it must be adapted to the changes in society since the goal is for the student, who has been formed integrally, to overcome any obstacle which stands in their professional and personal development and be able to take successfully each option or opportunity that is presented in the course of his life at anytime and anywhere.

Aurora eXpeditionary Learning (AXL) Academy was founded in 2008 as a PK–8 Expeditionary Learning school, grounded in the belief that students thrive when learning is active, meaningful, and connected to the real world. From the beginning, our founders envisioned a school where scholars engage deeply through fieldwork, hands-on projects, and authentic experiences that bring learning to life.

Today, AXL continues that mission in Aurora by providing every scholar with dynamic, real-world learning opportunities. Through rigorous expeditions, innovative use of technology, and a strong, community-centered environment, AXL empowers students to explore, discover, and achieve at high levels.
